Fellow GROG, Greenville Rugby Community and fans,

It is with deep sorrow that we bring you the news that GROG member Robert Anders passed away Friday afternoon, March 9th 2012.
Some of you may not know much about Robert but he was a club founder, and the heart and soul of Greenville Rugby for years.
Over the years, he did things such as hosting the post-match parties at his home, buying uniforms, and one year he and his twin, Earl paid for the annual party out of their own pockets. Robert was also one of the best fullbacks in the South. He was selected several times to the ERU select side and was a much respected player throughout the South.

Truly awful news, and as a club, we would like to extend the opportunity to contribute something to support his widow, Shannon, with expenses in this trying time. If you wish to contribute, please send any monies to the club PO box:

In commemoration of Robert, the Greenville Griffins will wear black arm bands this weekend for their home game against Cape Fear Rugby .

Spring Season Kick-Off Meeting

We will have a kickoff meeting for the Spring Season this Wednesday Night January 5 at The Irish Pub at 214 N. Pleasantburg Drive from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. If you haven't been there before it's next to Krispy Kreme. We will be talking about the upcoming season with regard to practices and games. This is very important meeting so plan on being there. We want to start the season strong. Looking forward to seeing everyone out there.
