Great Team Meeting
Great turnout at the meeting last week. Great to see new faces out there as
well as some of the craggy ones.

Team Meeting - Officer Elections
We are getting close now to kicking off the Fall Season. I'm really excited
about the upcoming season. I wanted to let everyone now about some key dates to
put down on your calendar. The first is the Pre-Season Team Meeting on Thursday
August 12 at the Irish Pub . It will kick off at 6:30pm.
New Head Coach Vince Atkinson will be laying out his plans for the upcoming
season along with Assistant Coaches Mike Cobb and Chris Courtney. Vinny will be
laying out his practice plan along with the game plan for the season and his
goals for the team. It should be an exciting season and I'm looking forward to
getting stuck in.
Vinny will also be talking about the pre-season practices
starting August 16 before the full Fall Season practices start August 31.
The other very important piece of business we take care of that night is Officer
Elections for the upcoming 2010-2011 Season. There are 7 officer positions to
fill. There is a ton of work that goes on behind the scenes. If you would like
to put your name forward for an officer position please e-mail. If you would
like to nominate someone for an officers position please e-mail me and the
person you are nominating. We will also be taking nominations the night of the
meeting. The current slate of officers will also be putting their names
forward.
We will also be going over other items going on with the club and various plans
for the Fall Season.
It's a very important meeting so make a point of being there.

New Head Coach for the GRIFFINS
We are very excited to announce that Vince Atkinson has agreed to be our new
Head Coach. For those of you that don't know Vince, he has been involved with
the club since 1994 when he started playing and was part of our South
Championship side of 1998. Vinny has been the South Collegiate Head coach for
the past 5 years and guided them to their first US National Collegiate
Championships this year out in Colorado.
He has also been most recently
involved coaching with the Charlotte super league side. We are very excited to
have him come on board as Greenville Head Coach and we are really looking
forward to this coaching ticket. As Vinny said Saturday, the immediate goal is
to compete the South next season and win the nationals in 3 years.
